Bike Transport Pickup Checklist
Bike transport becomes smoother when the customer prepares the two-wheeler properly before pickup day. Whether you are moving a scooter, commuter bike, sports bike, cruiser, or premium motorcycle, a few simple checks can help avoid confusion during loading, transit, and delivery. Shiv Car Transport guides customers before dispatch so the handover is clear and organised.
Keep Fuel Level Low
Before bike pickup, keep only a small amount of fuel in the tank. A low fuel level is safer during transport and makes handling easier. Do not keep the tank full before loading. If the bike is not in running condition, inform the team in advance so pickup and loading can be planned properly.
Remove Loose Accessories
Remove mobile holders, mirrors if detachable, luggage hooks, boxes, decorative fittings, loose guards, and any items that may shake during transit. If the bike has expensive accessories or custom parts, tell the transport team before pickup. This helps decide whether extra packing or special handling is needed.
Check Documents Before Handover
Keep RC, insurance copy, and a valid ID available during pickup and delivery. These documents may be needed for verification and transport coordination. Customers should not leave original documents or valuables inside bike storage compartments unless specifically advised.
Take Clear Photos
Take photos of the bike from the front, back, both sides, meter area, fuel tank, mirrors, and existing scratches before handover. These photos help maintain clarity about vehicle condition. The pickup team may also inspect the bike and note visible marks before loading.
Discuss Packing Requirement
For long-distance bike shifting, protective packing may be recommended. Packing can include wrapping for the tank, headlight, side panels, indicators, and other exposed parts. Premium bikes, sports bikes, and newly purchased motorcycles may need extra care depending on route and customer expectation.
Confirm Pickup and Delivery Details
Share the correct pickup address, destination address, contact person, alternate phone number, preferred pickup date, and delivery availability. If the pickup point is inside a narrow lane, basement, busy market, or restricted society, mention it early. The team can then coordinate a practical loading point.
Understand Transit Time
Bike transport time depends on distance, route, carrier availability, weather, traffic, and loading schedule. Regular routes from Delhi NCR, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata are usually easier to plan, while remote locations may need additional coordination.
Delivery Day Checks
At delivery, inspect the bike before final handover. Check the visible body panels, handle, indicators, mirrors, tyres, and accessories. Match the condition with the pickup notes and photos. If anything needs clarification, contact the transport team immediately.
Why Preparation Matters
A prepared bike is easier to inspect, pack, load, and deliver. Customers who share accurate details before pickup usually get smoother service and fewer delays. Shiv Car Transport focuses on practical guidance, safe handling, route-based planning, and direct communication throughout the bike shifting process.
